Our Story
The Cobra Cars Club was founded in 1985 by a group of passionate Shelby Cobra enthusiasts. Our mission is to preserve the legacy of these iconic vehicles, promote the enjoyment of driving them, and foster a community of like-minded individuals who share our love for these remarkable machines.
Over the years, we've grown from a small local group to a nationwide community of Cobra owners, builders, and admirers. We organise regular meetups, this is done by members in all areas communicating and organising social functions and cruises. So get involved and enjoy some great people to celebrate the Shelby Cobra and its enduring impact on automotive history.
Club Highlights

2019 Cobra Club Southern Run.
It was so good to meet new and old friends. We found some great back roads, shed raids, and a highlight was the trip into the manufacturing building to see the building of the F1 track cars at Rodin Cars. Then cruising around the tracks on site this will not be forgotten by many. the great thing about these runs is getting the members and Cobra owners form around the country together.

2022 Northern Run.
The first big run for the growing Northern members.
We had Grant from Nelson travel up for the 4 day trip. It is always good meeting new members and traveling over probably the best stretch of corners in the country on the rebuilt Mangamuka Gorge. Then around the Million Dollar Highway. Great having the members organizing a run in their area for us all to join in.

2024 Cruising the Catlins.
Our longest trip 5,500 km for the Northern members. Traveling through the best scenery that New Zealand has to offer. A few long days but so worth it. Highlights were the mighty West coast, 10 cobras and a GT40 in the Milford Sound tunnel.... Mt Cook turned on the weather and the tourists flocked in to see us. The Catlins were so worth the drive. looking forward to the North Island run next year..
